There are so many wonderful wedding venues around Exeter that are unique for numerous reasons. But the wedding venue that we would want to get married in (if we wanted to get married again) would be the remarkably stunning Rockbeare Manor.
It’s romantic, it’s fantastic and it’s gorgeously unique!
Not only will you feel like very important people hiring out the whole manor for your wedding. Your guests will feel like dukes and duchesses, barons and baronesses, lords and ladies, little princes and princesses!
Nestling close to Exeter, Rockbeare Manor is named after the pretty village of Rockbeare where it was built.
Constructed in 1760, this white stunning Grade I country house catches our eye from the moment we drive up the gravel approach!
We LOVE returning to Rockbeare!
The feeling we often get when we return with our Photo Booths is that it is like stepping into another time zone. A very classy one at that! Of course, if we were to travel back in time, we would have to enter through the workers’ door round the back. So we are very lucky to be able to arrive through the front door.
Generally, when we arrive at Rockbeare Manor our Bride & Groom and all their guests are in the ballroom tucking into their lovely wedding breakfast! You won’t even notice we are there!
A brief description of the layout of Rockbeare
In these luxurious surroundings, how can you fail to feel like someone VERY IMPORTANT from the moment that you step through the front door? What a treat for everyone visiting Rockbeare!
Through the front entrance into the welcoming reception room, there are comfy couches beckoning and when the weather’s not at its best, a lovely roaring fire too. Heaven!
To the left is a Billiards room – we bet that gets popular during a wedding weekend!
Turn right to see the beautiful sweeping staircase up to the Drawing Room and bedrooms. Every mansion house, stately or otherwise, must have a sweeping staircase!!
There is the stately Dining Room (imagine your ceremony actually happening right here) – big enough to accommodate all your guests.
Continue along the bright corridor to find a bar, a large reception space and the ballroom – the highlight of your wedding breakfast and evening reception. Perfect for between 60 and 150 guests!
Outside is 100 acres of Devon parkland – at every turn! How amazing is that?!

Where better than to share your romantic civil ceremony on the pretty Terrace with lovely views across those many acres or within the magnificent Dining Room?

About settling in
Our advice when you arrive at Rockbeare Manor is to settle in and get used to feeling like royalty in these grand surroundings. You deserve it! The super friendly and very efficient hospitality team here are second to none and will ensure all that you need is arranged for you.
